Firebomb attack brings prison sentences
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Two brothers who firebombed the home of a Swedish cartoonist who drew the Prophet Mohammed with the body of a dog were sentenced to prison Thursday.

Mentor Alija, 21, was given a three-year sentence for the arson attack on the home of cartoonist Lars Vilks and Mensur Alija drew a two-year sentence, Swedish news agency TT reported.

Vilks has faced numerous death threats since his controversial drawing of the founder of Islam was first published in a Swedish newspaper in 2007 to illustrate an editorial on the importance of freedom of expression.

In court, Mentor Alija described Lars Vilks as "God's enemy, he is the Prophet's enemy, he is the Muslims' enemy."

"He is Islam's greatest enemy right now," he added.

The brothers are Swedish nationals of Kosovar origin, TT reported.

The firebombing caused little damage, and Vilks was not at home when the attack occurred, TT said.
