3 NATO troops killed in Afghanistan
KABUL, Afghanistan, Three NATO soldiers died in separate attacks in Afghanistan Saturday in the latest of heavy summer casualties among international troops, the military said.

The British Defense Ministry said a British soldier was killed in an explosion in the Nahr-e Saraj District of Helmand province in the southern part of the country, CNN reported. An American soldier died in eastern Afghanistan, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said.

A third soldier in the NATO-led forced was killed by an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan, but neither the soldier's nationality nor other details were available.

On Friday, an improvised explosive device killed two members of the NATO force, one British and one American, in southern Afghanistan.

The recent violence comes after statistics showed June was the deadliest month of the nine-year war for coalition and U.S. soldiers.
