At least one suicide bomber has attacked the airport area of Jalalabad, Afghanistan, officials said.
Local police and NATO officials offered different accounts of the attack.
Adadullah Palwar, the acting police chief in the Nangarhar province, said two suicide bombers attacked the airport. Palwar said the suicide bombers were dead, but there were no other casualties.
NATO's International Security Assistance Force said one suicide bomber attacked a base near the airport, killing eight suspected insurgents.
