A Qantas Airways flight carrying 199 passengers was forced to turn back to Sydney, Australia, on Monday because of an electrical problem, the airline said.

Qantas did not reveal specifics of the electrical problem, but said engineers were inspecting the Boeing 747.

The flight landed without incident and everyone aboard the aircraft was fine, Qantas said.

The flight was bound for Argentina with 199 passengers, three flight crew and 18 cabin crew aboard.

Passengers on the detoured plane will take another flight, leaving Sydney at 5 p.m. Monday, Qantas said

On November 4, Australia's national airline grounded its Airbus A380 fleet after part of a plane's engine cover fell off in flight. One of the four engines on the airliner shut down six minutes after takeoff from Singapore's Changi Airport.

The Sydney-bound flight -- with 440 passengers and 26 crew members aboard -- returned to Changi.

On Friday, Rolls-Royce said the failure of a component in its Trent 900 engine caused an oil fire that forced the emergency landing.

On November 5, another Qantas Boeing 747 made an emergency landing.

The jet landed safely in Singapore after turning back due to engine problems shortly after takeoff. The plane was carrying 412 passengers and 19 crew members and was headed to Sydney.
