GRAVESEND —
A mini-school bus carrying nine children crashed into the side of a bank in Brooklyn Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. on the corner of Avenue U and West 6th Street.

Reports say a silver SUV was struck in the rear when the school bus jumped the curb and collided into the side of a Capitol One Bank on the corner of Avenue U and West 6th Street. Another car parked on West 6th Street was pushed up onto the sidewalk as a result of the accident.

Reports say nine children were in the bus at the time of the accident.

It was not immediately known to which school the children were being driven.

Eleven people were evaluated by EMS at the scene. One adult suffered serious injuries.

Members of the FDNY also responded to the scene.

Slippery roadways from Tuesday's snowfall may have been a contributing factor in the accident, but the exact cause is under investigation.
