<div>Some 300 health care workers in Saskatoon are walking off the job Friday.
It's the latest job action from the Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan, which is in a contract dispute with the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations.
Talks broke down Thursday between the union and SAHO, which represents health regions.
The union represents 3,000 health care workers from a variety of different health fields.
Among those who will be picketing Friday, according to HSAS, are pharmacists from the Royal University Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital, public health inspectors, addictions counsellors, social workers and physical therapists
Wages are a big factor in the dispute. SAHO is offering an 11 per cent hike over four years, while the union is asking for 14.5 per cent over the same period.
Picket lines will be going up at Royal University Hospital and Saskatoon City Hospital at 8 a.m. CST, the union said.
The last contract between SAHO and HSAS expired two years ago.
