'Expendables' rake it in for No. 1 spot
LOS ANGELES, Sylvester Stallone's action film "The Expendables" took the No. 1 box office spot during the weekend with $16.5 million.

The comic parody "Vampires Suck" was No. 2 with $12.2 million. "Eat Pray Love," starring Julia Roberts, was a close third with $12 million.

All estimated gross box office studio receipts are via Box Office Mojo.

The comedy "Lottery Ticket" was a close fourth with more than $11.12 million; "The Other Guys" was close on its heels at fifth with $10.1 million; "Piranha" sixth with more than $10.03 million; "Nanny McPhee Returns" seventh with $8.31 million; "The Switch" eighth with $8.1 million; "Inception" ninth with more than $7.65 million.

Rounding out the tightly bunched top 10 was "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" with $5.034 million.
