'Fat' Hong Kong officials urged to diet

HONG KONG, -- Hong Kong's health minister urged officials during a legislative council meeting to lose weight to set an example for the country.
Health Minister York Chow Yat-ngok said during the Wednesday council meeting obesity is an increasing problem in Hong Kong and officials should switch to healthy diets to set a good example for their constituents, The (Hong Kong) Standard reported Thursday.
"Some of the secretaries and legislators are comparatively fat. I believe they should try to keep fit to set an example for the public," Chow said. "The rising trend of people being overweight and obese has been largely attributed to unhealthy dietary habits, the wide availability of high fat and sugary foods and the lack of physical activity."
Lawmaker Ip Wai-ming pledged to heed the health minister's words and shed pounds by adding exercise time to his Sunday schedule.

pretty soon, being fat will be a crime. in Gotham City, the mayor wanna tax sugary items....all this is to save health insurance spending. FDA can put a restriction on ingredient in processing foods. Is'nt that a more logical practice?
