MLB playoffs roll with Kid Rock

DETROIT, -- Major League Baseball's televised post-season play will get a musical lift from Detroit rocker Kid Rock as the playoffs roll in October.
Turner Sports announced "Born Free," title track from Kid Rock's upcoming album, is part of a 2 1/2-minute video blending baseball footage with scenes from Kid Rock's recent concerts, the Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday.
Clips from the video will be reformatted for commercial spots across the Turner networks, including TNT and CNN, a Turner Sports executive said. The song also will be heard during game presentations on TBS, which will air the playoffs beginning Oct. 6.
"Born Free" was "the perfect track" for the campaign, Craig Barry, senior vice president-content for Turner Sports, said in a statement.
"It's a song with an all-American feel that connects perfectly with America's favorite pastime," Barry said. "Having the opportunity to shoot Kid Rock's performance in front of his hometown crowd added a dynamic energy that could not be duplicated."
