why wont price of persia: the forgotten sands start on my pc?

i bought prince of persia: the forgotten sands on steam the other day. today i got the opportunity to start playing it. i downloaded it and everything but when i start it up the screen just turns black and it shows a loading sign. it says the game is not responding whenever i start it. I am running windows 7 32bit. pc req arnt the problem here. my pc can run this hands down. whats the problem here?graphics card: nvidia geforce 9600 GT. i dont think my cards the problem

Could be corrupt data that you have downloaded for the game. Try re-downloading the entire thing. (try not to pause the download at any time)
