X2 Dongle Multiroom Firmware 2010Feb24 - Loading SS DSR 4000 and SS DVB 500/700s
This new Firm is not compulsory but may increase your IKS experience 40-70%

These instructions are confirmed to be working for the SpaceStar DSR 700s for a System that was previously working and should work fine for the Sonysat DSR 4000, DVB 500, and DVB 700s.

If this is a new Set up please follow the instructions found in the Guides Section


X2 Dongle Flashing Instructions for users of the Sonysat DSR 4000, Spacestar DVB500s/700s

If you have CH 100 and/or 213, then you may proceed.

Setting up the Receiver CAS

Go to MENU
Configuration
Embedded CAS
CAS Mode: IKS
Press OK and Exit
Place on CH 122

Loading the X2 Dongle

1) With X2 dongle connected to the serial port (RS232) of the Receiver and Straight Thru Ethernet cable plugged into the dongle and the Router.
2) Start the Wiznet Configuration Tool Loader.
3) Turn Off the Receiver (Unplug the Power Cord) and unplug the X2 Dongle Power adapter and Count to 10 Seconds.
4) Plug in the Receiver Cord and the X2 Dongle External Power Cord, Count to 7 Seconds and Click the Search Box on the Wiznet Configuration Program.
5) Ver 1.3 should appear as well as the IPs and Server Port 90.
6) Click on Serial and ensure that 115200
6) Click Upload go to folder with the X2 Dongle MultiroomV2.5 JP_ 2010Feb24 bins you loaded to your PC
7) Choose a ShowmeX2-2010Feb24-rom00.bin (the mac address of the dongle you want to program)

Note: if you are programming more than one X2 dongle for your personal use, use a different firmware file for each dongle.
ShowmeX2-2010Feb24-rom01.bin, then ShowmeX2-2010Feb24-rom02.bin, etc....

8) The Progress bar should move along the screen. When Done, click OK.
9) Click on CH 122 and you should have TV.





If still no Picture:

Hit EXIT and Power OFF sonysat from the back of the STB or by unplugging the power Cord form the power source if there is no Rear Switch.

Power On Back go to a channel 122 SYFY wait for picture.
