NEW HOLLAND, Pa. -- Thirteen rowdy bulls are back in their pens after breaking out Thursday morning and wreaking havoc in New Holland, Lancaster County.

The bulls escaped from the New Holland Sales Stables Barn around 8 a.m. Crews and police spread out through New Holland and worked to corral all the animals.

Workers had their hands full. One bull that was in the parking lot behind Choice Windows and Doors along Route 23 charged a man, and rammed into a fence and an SUV. Handlers were eventually able to get the animal into a trailer.

Handlers cornered another bull in a backyard at 191 Hillcrest in New Holland. The animal faced off with about a half dozen men who worked to catch it.

Megan Riehl lives in New Holland along Hilllcrest. She woke up this morning to a loud noise then noticed police cars in her driveway.

"They were chasing (the bull) around the yard trying to get it into a position they wanted to and I think they shot a tranquilizer gun at it. Then they were trying to get it to waste some of its energy. But it was a lot of charging around the fence and going back and forth," Riehl said.

The final bull was captured on Huyard Road around 11:30 a.m. The streets of New Holland are now clear of wandering livestock.
