While many in Connecticut cleaned up after being slammed by a major nor'easter, someone who bought a single Powerball ticket hit the jackpot Wednesday night.
"This jackpot winner is going to get over a quarter of a billion dollars. It is far and away the biggest jackpot we have ever had in the state of Connecticut," said Connecticut Lottery's President and CEO Ann Noble.
The winning ticket that matched all six numbers was sold in Fairfield County. They aren't saying what town or retailer sold the ticket, but so far the ticket remains unclaimed after the drawing last night.

The $245 million jackpot is the largest in Connecticut history and the 12th largest in Powerball history. Most winners take a lump sum of cash, which in this case would be worth about $103,581,274 after taxes. An annual payment is also available, spread over 30 years, that increases every year.
Some have power outages on their mind and know immediately what they'd do with the massive jackpot.
"That's great for whoever won the Powerball," said Brian Karavish of South Glastonbury. "But if they want to pay to put the electricity back on, and get people to work to get the trees off the roads and the power lines off the roads, I think that would be a good thing."
Some wondered if the winner knows they won, as so many are cut off from TV and the Internet.
The retailer who sold the ticket will win $100,000.
