3 die in Edmonton house explosion
EDMONTON, Alberta, (UPI) -- An explosion in an Edmonton residential neighborhood Sunday afternoon left three people dead and at least three others hospitalized, authorities said.
The Edmonton Journal reported it was possible others were still missing.
The blast leveled the home were it was centered and another nearby. Two more homes were knocked off their foundations and 19 others were damaged, district fire chief Robert D'Aoust said.
A fire triggered by the blast burned for hours and authorities evacuated about 70 people from the area.
The cause of the explosion had not been determined.
