In that particular depravity, terrorists depended on sat phones to contact their handlers without leaving a record. That’s just one instance of a sat-terror link, but Northern Sky analysts point out that in an era of anywhere/anytime terrorist attacks, “Those who are increasingly caught in the line of fire or are inadvertently forced to be engaged in terrorist conflicts may need satellite communications equipment themselves for safety measures as well as for helping fight the enemy in case of an attack.”
