Accused drug smuggler no heiress
COLUMBUS, Ohio, (UPI) -- A woman charged with smuggling marijuana to Ohio aboard chartered jets is not related to the founders of Samsung Electronics, the company says.
In a statement late Wednesday, Samsung also said Lisette Lee of Beverly Hills, Calif., is not an heiress to the Samsung fortune, the Columbus Dispatch reported. Lee allegedly told Drug Enforcement Administration agents she was related to the Lee family that founded Samsung.
Lee was arrested Monday at an airport in Columbus. Investigators say she was traveling with 13 pieces of luggage containing more than 500 pounds of marijuana.
An entry on Internet Movie Data Base shows Lee has one film credit, playing Baby Sugar Mama in a 2008 movie, "The Doorman." The film also featured Christian Navarro, one of the owners of a upmarket Los Angeles liquor store. Photographs show the two of them at social events, in one case with Pierce Brosnan and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Navarro told the Dispatch he was not engaged to Lee and would not comment on her arrest.
