Toronto police have arrested a 38-year-old man and charged him in connection with last weekend's slaying of a woman in a Jarvis Street apartment.
Joanne Mitchell, 60, was found dead at an apartment at 460 Jarvis Street near Wellesley Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
An autopsy that was performed Monday revealed she died of "multiple blunt impact head injuries," police said.
Mitchell's death marks Toronto's sixth homicide of the year.
Jody George of no fixed address has been charged with second-degree murder.
