Asian ministers meet in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, (UPI) -- Tight security was in place Wednesday for the start of the third South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation ministers conference in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Interior ministers from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives attending the conference are expected to pass a resolution against terrorism, the Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported.

More than 1,700 police officers have been called in by Pakistani security forces to provide security, officials said. Security measures included adding a dozen checkpoints.

Dawn reported ministers from Pakistan and India were expected to discuss investigations and court proceedings concerning the 2008 Mumbai attacks in which more than 160 people were killed.
