ATI Driver Won't Install. Linux Ubuntu Studio 7.10?

I have an ATI Radeon X1650. The driver needs some kind of Characer Coding or something. Everything is fine. Compiz with all the effects, no lag in anything, videos, internet... What do I do?

How are you trying to open the run script? You should be in a terminal and typing something like "./ati-driver-installer-8.14.13.run" or "sudo ./ati-driver-installer-8.14.13.run". If you are trying to open it through Nautilus, it may be trying to open the script as a text document instead of executing it, so be absolutely sure you are trying to open this through the terminal.
