INTERNATIONAL: Bell TV Late Fees Ruling, Philippine DTH, Nimiq Delay
An Ontario court ruled in a class action case targeting Bell TV (formerly Bell ExpressVu) that the Canadian satellite TV service cannot charge a $25 fee for late payments. The late fees have been charged to some 330,000 customers, out of 1.8 million who receive the service, stated news reports --- SES New Skies said it was contracted by Mediascape to provide transponder capacity on the NSS-11 satellite. That capacity will be used for a new direct-to-home satellite TV service targeting the Philippines --- This week's Proton launch mission at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, which will carry Telesat's Nimiq 4 satellite into orbit, was postponed until Friday (Saturday local time). A component malfunction detected in the control system during preflight testing forced the delay, those responsible for the launch said.
