Bench warrant issued for Lindsay Lohan
LOS ANGELES, (UPI) -- A Los Angeles judge issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan after the actress failed to attend a mandatory court hearing Thursday morning.

Lohan's lawyer Wednesday confirmed the "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" star would be unable to make the court date because she had lost her U.S. passport while attending France's Cannes Film Festival.

The hearing was set up to see if the 23-year-old actress has been complying with the terms of her probation for a 2007 drunken driving conviction.

TMZ quoted Judge Marsha Revel as saying she believed Lohan's excuse was part of her substance-abuse problem, adding it was no justification for missing court.

"Actions speak louder than words," TMZ said the judge told Lohan's lawyer, who appeared in court to explain the situation.

Revel also pointed out Lohan had "a history of not keeping scheduled appointments."
