Canadian couple still missing

PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia, Two people say they saw a sport utility vehicle last week matching the one belonging to a Canadian couple last seen 12 days ago

Diana Bjorklund told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. Thursday she and her father saw the SUV driving slowly down a street July 8 in Prince George, British Columbia. They even took down the vehicle's license number and tried to pass it along to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on Tuesday but say they were met with indifference, the CBC said.

Bjorklund said the local RCMP "said it was irrelevant because it was four days ago, five days ago."

"They never asked our names, our phone numbers or nothing," she toldd the CBC.

Marie Ann McCann and Lyle Thomas McCann, both in their late 70s, have been missing since embarking on a road trip to Abbotsford, British Columbia, July 3 in a motor home that was pulling their SUV. The motor home was found burning two days later at a campground near Edson, Alberta.

RCMP spokesman Gary Godwin said Wednesday authorities wanted to talk to Bjorklund and her father.

"This couple sounds very credible and the fact that they saw it and they had the plate number leads us to believe that they actually saw the vehicle," he said.
