Couple shares chance encounter at Disney
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., (UPI) -- A Florida couple's tale of their first meeting as young children at Disneyworld, 15 years before they met again, has become an Internet hit.
Alex and Donna Voutsinas of Boynton Beach learned of their early encounter in 2002 when they were putting together old family pictures
for their wedding reception, the Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reports. Alex, looking at a photograph of Donna Balzano, aged 5, with her two brothers in 1980 noticed a man who looked like his father in the background, pushing a stroller with a young boy.
The Balzanos, who had just moved to Florida from New York, were making their first trip to Disneyworld. So was the Voutsinas family, then living in Montreal.
Alex dug up his own family snaps, which showed him at 3 wearing the same outfit he was wearing in Donna's picture.
The couple met again in 1995 when Donna got a job at his family's hotel. After their marriage, they shared their story with family and friends until this May, when they posted it on Facebook.
Through the magic of the Internet, the story spread quickly and within a week major news outlets were on the line.
"I believe everybody crosses paths at one time or another, but to have it documented like we did just blew my mind," Alex said.
