Cox to Carry STAR Channels
STAR, News Corp.'s media and entertainment company, said Cox Communications will launch three of its Indian television channels in its digital cable platform in Northern Virginia. The launch represents STAR's first cable distribution deal in the U.S.
MTV is utilizing GlobeCast's recently acquired second transponder on Eutelsat's Eurobird 9 satellite to provide distribution and capacity for MTV Portugal. The Eurobird 9 platform provides broadcasters with the ability to reach 50 million households across Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa equipped for Hot Bird direct-to-home reception.
