A pair of weekend fires in New Brunswick have destroyed two homes.
A Fredericton man is homeless after fire destroyed his mobile home Saturday night.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 56 Needle Court shortly after 7 p.m.
Platoon Chief Art Van Horne with the Fredericton fire department said the man escaped from the home through a window.
Van Horne said the fire started with a pot on the stove that was left unattended.
He said when the man discovered the fire he tried to contain it with a cover, and that's when it started to spread out of control.
"The building was a complete write-off," said Van Horne.
In Village Blanchard, a fire has left a family of three homeless.
The two-story home a few kilometres south of Caraquet was gutted Friday night.
No one was hurt, and the couple and their child are staying with relatives for now.
There's no word yet on the cause of that fire.
