HD Launch Update from WhereIsHD.com
According to the latest numbers from WhereIsHD.com, Time Warner Cable leads the pack with launching a total of 214 HD feeds across 19 DMAs last week, occurring primarily in the Myrtle Beach, Greensboro, Columbia (S.C.), and Columbus DMAs. Disney was a major player in Time Warner's launches with Disney Channel HD launching on 52 lineups and Toon Disney HD launching on 22 lineups. A total of 43 of Time Warner's high-def launches were sport channels including ESPN News HD and Golf Channel/Versus HD, states the WhereIsHD.com figures.
Comcast launched 27 HD feeds last week, primarily in the Wheeling-Steubenville DMA, while Bright House launched all of their 32 HD feeds in Tampa-St. Pete (Sarasota).
Also, the WhereIsHD.com data states that 174 lineups across the country had at least one HD feed added last week, overall.
