'Idol' DeWyze, Bowersox ink record deals
LOS ANGELES, (UPI) -- "American Idol" finalists Lee DeWyze and Chrystal Bowersox have signed record deals for major-label debuts, officials said.
The contracts were signed Thursday, the day after the "Idol" season finale in Los Angeles, MTV.com reported. "Idol" winner DeWyze signed with 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records will runner-up Bowersox signed with 19 Recordings Limited and Jive.
Both singers already have experience inside a recording studio, MTV.com said. DeWyze has released two independent CDs, while Bowersox has recorded several dozen original songs.
