Is AMD Athalon better than intel core 2duo?

I was planning on buying a laptop, and wondering if I should get a laptop with intel or AMD? Which processesor should I get?

get amd6+ processor core 2 duo, this is much better and much cheaper

i would get the AMD, i have always used them and never had a problem with them plus there cheaper then INTEL.

They explained to me that the AMD is better for gaming and watching dvd's on.

well, to date, right now the core2duo are much faster than the athlon x2 processors, the athlon is outdated, the phenom processors by amd are still not as fast as the core2duo with some of the higher end models, but its really what you need your laptop for.
