It is usually a good habit to disable any antivirus and whatever you may have running in the background whilst installing drivers and patches- just in case. However, if the install went smoothly without interuption then all is well and you likely will not have any problems. I've installed nvidia drivers whilst having Avast running in the past (meh, just coz I'm lazy) and never had any issues.
