Is the Intel Core 2 Duo or the AMD Phenom X4 a better processor?

Thanks for looking. Just wondering if the Intel Core 2 Duo is better than the AMD Phenom X4? Which would perform better for multitasking and gaming? Thanks in advance!

X4 as it is quad core. the x4 can play games. multitask due to quad cores. cheaper but still packs performance. trust me i have an phenom II X4 965 Be 125 watt overcloked to 4.0ghz. like this add as best answer then. dual cores arent mad for real multitasking and real programs other than small sstandard programs.

Come on now, you can't compare a dual core against a quad core, the quad will win almost every time.

Phenom X4 beat a C2D any day, and the pricing is messed up for the C2Q, with a Q8 stuck near something with the power of a Q9
