Launch Success for SES Astra

Those behind Wednesday's launch of the Astra 1M satellite, built for European satellite operator SES Astra, are calling the mission a success.
The spacecraft lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan early Thursday (Wednesday afternoon in North America). The satellite traveled aboard a Proton Breeze M launch vehicle provided by International Launch Services.
SES said the ASTRA 1M satellite will provide direct-to-home services, including HDTV, throughout Continental Europe.
