Missing hiker found alive in Maine
BANGOR, Maine, (UPI) -- An Ohio man missing for three days in a Maine park was found hurt but alive Monday, authorities said.
Baxter State Park Director Jensen Bissell said Michael Hays, 41, Stow, Ohio, was found about 1 1/2 miles from where he was last seen, Bangor's WABI-TV reported
Park officials said a state Forest Service helicopter spotted Hays about 3 p.m. in a steep and densely wooded area of the park near Mount Katahdin. A park ranger was dropped off nearby and helped the injured hiker to the aircraft, WABI-TV said.
Hay was taken to a hospital where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries, the TV station said.
