MLB: Arizona 10, New York Yankees 4
PHOENIX, (UPI) -- Justin Upton homered twice and drove in four runs Monday, pacing a 13-hit attack in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 10-4 inter-league rout of the New York Yankees.
Upton's first round-tripper came as part of a first-inning long-ball barrage that saw Adam LaRoche pound a three-run shot and Mark Reynolds add a solo blast off Yankees starter A.J. Burnett (6-6).
Upton added a three-run clout in the eighth to cap the D-backs' victory.
Miguel Montero went 3-for-5 with two RBI and Gerardo Parra drove in a pair of runs for Arizona, which was coming off a 1-5 American League road trip.
D-backs starter Rodrigo Lopez (3-6) held the Yanks to three runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out a pair.
