SAN DIEGO, (UPI) -- Adam Jones belted a two-run homer and Alfredo Simon survived a shaky ninth inning Saturday in the Baltimore Orioles' 5-4 inter-league decision over San Diego.

Jones's blast in the sixth put the O's up 5-3 and proved to be the game-winner after the Padres scored a run in the ninth off Simon, who eventually notched his seventh save after stranding Tony Gwynn Jr. at third with one out.

Nick Markakis drove in a pair of runs and Luke Scott when 3-for-4 with an RBI, lifting Baltimore to only its fourth June victory.

Kevin Millwood (1-8) finally collected his first win of the season, limiting the Padres to three runs on seven hits over six innings.

Clayton Richard (4-4) took the loss for the San Diego, surrendering five runs (four earned) on eight hits in six innings.
