WASHINGTON, Joey Votto had a three-runner

homer Tuesday in the Cincinnati Reds' 8-7 over Washington, in a game delayed nearly 3 hours by rain.

Mike Leake (7-1) picked up the win after cruising through five innings, giving up just one run on five hits, before the rain began falling in Washington.

A five-pitcher committee took the Reds home after play resumed. Francisco Cordero picked up his 26th save.

The Reds built up an 8-1 lead after five innings, including three on Votto's 23rd home run of the season in the first.

Luis Atilano (6-7) started for the Nationals and took the loss. He gave up five runs on five hits over four innings before the bad weather closed in.

Ryan Zimmerman had a two-run homer and Mike Morse tripled in three runs in a six-run Washington sixth.
