DETROIT, (UPI) -- Ramon Santiago coaxed a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 12th inning Saturday to give the Detroit Tigers a 7-6 win over Boston.
Rookie Brennan Boesch collected four hits -- his ninth multi-hit game in only 18 major league games -- and drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers, which took their fourth game in six contests.
Magglio Ordonez homered, stroked three hits and crossed the plate three times in the victory. Brandon Inge, meanwhile, got two RBI.
Jose Valverde (1-1) was credited with the win after setting Boston down 1-2-3 in the top of the 12th.
David Ortiz went 3-for-6 with two RBI and Adrian Beltre added two hits in defeat for the Red Sox.
Manny Delcarmen (1-2) was saddled with the loss after walking in the winning run.
