LOS ANGELES, (UPI) -- Hideki Matsui and Torii Hunter both had three-run doubles Friday, sending the Los Angeles Angels coasting past the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-1.
The Angels had 13 hits and produced eight runs on three swings of the bat to hand the Dodgers their first loss in five games.
Things were made easy for Angels starter Joel Pineiro (5-6), who threw his third complete game of the season and the 15th of his 10-year career. He gave up five hits, struck out seven and threw 119 pitches.
Matsui delivered his bases-loaded double in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie. Hunter did the same thing during a four-run sixth. Howard Kendrick added a two-run homer in the ninth.
Chad Billingsley (6-4) was roughed up for seven runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings.
The Angels improved to 8-1 on a 14-game road trip.
