MLB: LA Angels 6, Oakland 5 (10 innings)
OAKLAND, Calif., (UPI) -- Erick Aybar hit the third Los Angeles homer of the game leading off the 10th inning Friday, giving the Angels a much-needed 6-5 win over Oakland.
Los Angeles ended a four-game losing streak and won for just the second time in eight contests. Oakland never led, but rallied to tie the game on three occasions.
Bobby Abreu hit a two-run homer for the Angels in the first and Torii Hunter had a two-run shot in the eighth that gave Los Angeles a 5-3 lead. The A's then came back with two of their own in the bottom half and the game headed into extra innings.
It took Aybar just three pitches, however, to put the Angels back in front in the 10th with his blast off Andrew Bailey (0-3).
Kevin Jepsen (1-1) got the win by retiring the side in order in the ninth. Brian Fuentes was perfect in the 10th to pick up his 16th save.
Oakland lost its fourth straight.
