MLB: San Diego 4, Seattle 3
SAN DIEGO, (UPI) -- Nick Hundley finished a ninth-inning rally with a sacrifice fly Friday that gave the San Diego Padres a 4-3 victory over Seattle.

The Padres handed the Mariners their fourth straight loss and moved into a tie with the Los Angeles Dodgers at the top of the National League West.

Seattle held a 3-2 lead heading into the ninth and called on closer David Aardsma, who had saved 12 games in 15 tries prior to Friday.

Will Venable led off the ninth with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice by David Eckstein. Chase Headley was then hit by a pitch and Adrian Gonzalez followed with a double to right that scored Venable with the tying run.

Scott Hairston was walked intentionally to load the bases but Hundley swung on the first pitch and lifted a fly ball to right that brought home the winning score.

That gave the victory to Joe Thatcher, who posted his first decision of the season in his 18th appearance. Aardsma fell to 0-4.

Seattle took a 3-2 lead in the sixth on a solo homer by Milton Bradley.
