SEATTLE, (UPI) -- Ryan Rowland-Smith and two relievers combined for a three-hit shutout Sunday and Seattle edged Cincinnati 1-0 to sweep their three-game inter-league series.

Rowland-Smith (1-6) collected his first win of the year with a gutsy performance, shutting down the Reds through six innings despite giving up three hits and issuing five walks to the National League's best-hitting team.

Brandon League tossed two scoreless innings and David Aardsma finished up with a 1-2-3 ninth, registering his 15th save for the Mariners.

Seattle got its only run in the fourth when Franklin Gutierrez drove home Chone Figgins with a sacrifice fly.

Aaron Harang (5-7) was the hard-luck loser. He yielded only the one run on three hits over six innings.
