SEATTLE, May 22 (UPI) -- Mike Sweeney hit two homers Friday, drove in six runs and led an assault that brought Seattle a 15-8 win over San Diego.

The Mariners scored four more runs than they had in any other game this season and reached double digits for just the second time.

Seattle had a seven-run second inning and a five-run fourth, pounding out 15 hits to win its second straight.

Sweeney hit a three-run homer in the second and had a two-run blast in the fourth. He also singled in a run in the fifth. Josh Bard contributed a solo homer in the third and a two-run double in the fourth.

Cliff Lee (2-2) was able to pick up the victory despite giving up seven runs on 11 hits in 6 1/3 innings. Wade LeBlanc (2-2) took the loss and combined with Cesar Ramos to surrender all 15 runs on 13 hits over four-plus innings.

The game finished off the first night of interleague play this season. The American League teams won eight of the 14 games contested.
