ARLINGTON, Texas, (UPI) -- Max Ramirez's fifth-inning RBI single proved to be the game-winner for the Texas Rangers in Sunday's 6-4 win over Kansas City.

David Murphy got three hits and two RBIs while Michael Young contributed two hits and knocked in a run as the Rangers notched their first four-game sweep of the Royals since 1990.

Doug Mathis (1-0) was credited with the win after hurling two innings of scoreless relief and Neftali Feliz picked up his ninth save of the season.

The Royals were led by Mike Aviles, who went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, while Mitch Maier chipped in a pair of RBIs. Brad Thompson (0-2) was saddled with the defeat after allowing one run on four hits in two innings.
