COLUMBUS

, Ohio, (UPI) -- Guillermo Barros Schelotto's goal in the 57th minute was the game-winner Saturday in the Columbus Crew's 2-0 victory over D.C. United.

The winning play was set up 12 minutes into the second half when Schelotto used his arm to settle down a shot by Emilio Renteria on the left side of the six-yard box as D.C. goalkeeper Troy Perkins was out of the net.

Schelotto struck a quick shot inside the post for his fifth goal of the season, giving Columbus (7-2-3) all the scoring it would need.

The Crew got an insurance goal off a corner kick from Schelotto that found Eric Brunner at the right post for a tap-in goal.

With the loss, D.C. (3-9-1) saw its three-game unbeaten streak snapped.
