CARSON, Calif., (UPI) -- Edson Buddle scored a goal in his return from the U.S. national team Sunday, helping the Los Angeles Galaxy down Seattle 3-1.

Buddle's tally in the 19th minute -- his league-leading 10th score -- came off a feed by another U.S. soccer hero returning from South Africa, Landon Donovan. The tally broke a scoreless tie and sent the Galaxy (11-1-3) on their way to a win.

Brazilian Juninho gave Los Angeles a 2-0 advantage in the 48th minute when he unleashed a long shot that beat Seattle goalkeeper Kasey Keller along the far post.

The Sounders (4-8-3) cut their deficit to one in the 66th minute when winger Steve Zakuani drove through the Galaxy defense and fired a shot inside the right post.

But a Seattle own-goal by James Riley 12 minutes later restored LA's two-goal advantage.
