EW YORK (AP)—Third baseman Melvin Mora(notes) has been scratched from the Baltimore Orioles’ lineup against the New York Yankees.

Mora was to start at third base and bat fifth Sunday. The Orioles didn’t immediately announce a reason for his removal from the lineup.

First baseman Ty Wigginton(notes) moved up two spots to take Mora’s spot in the batting order, and Justin Turner(notes) was inserted at third.

Mora was hit on the right elbow by an Andy Pettitte(notes) pitch in the fifth inning of Baltimore’s 10-4 victory Friday night. He was removed in the sixth for a pinch hitter and didn’t play in Saturday’s 7-3 win over New York.
