No automatic COLA raises for Congress
WASHINGTON, (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama signed legislation Friday that prevents members of Congress from automatically receiving a pay raise.
Congressional members automatically receive a cost-of-living adjustment annually unless they vote otherwise, which both chambers did last month, The Hill reported.
The House of Representatives passed the legislation 402-15. The Senate approved the measure on a voice vote.
