No blood on accused cat killer's tools
MIAMI, (UPI) -- Cutting tools seized from a young Florida man accused of a cat-killing spree have no traces of blood, a police lab report says.

The report released Friday also said there was no blood on clothes that belonged to 19-year-old Tyler Weinman nor in samples taken on the roof of his car, WTVJ, Miami, said.

Weinman was arrested last year after the bodies of 19 cats were found in Cutler Bay and Palmetto Bay, the areas where his divorced parents were living. He faces charges of animal cruelty, improper disposition of animal bodies and burglary.

Prosecutors say they have other evidence linking Weinman to the crimes. His lawyer, David Macey, believes police may be ignoring the real killers, pointing out that a pit bull pack is now believed to have been responsible for cat deaths in nearby Broward County, the report said.

Police found box cutters and dental tools hidden in Weinman's home during a search.
