Ottawa police used their tactical unit to arrest a man who had barricaded himself in a West End home on Sunday.
Police answered an assault call at a home on Regina Street, near Richmond Road and the Ottawa River Parkway, at 2:50 a.m.
They say a man armed with a knife entered the victim's residence and refused to leave.
The tactical unit eventually entered the home and arrested him.
No one was injured, but the suspect faces a number of charges.
Police say they aren't releasing any details about the accused or the charges in order to protect the victim's identity.
