Various accidents on Highway 417 are slowing traffic Tuesday morning as drivers in the Ottawa area deal with icy road conditions.
"If you're a driver in Ottawa, you should avoid the Queensway anywhere in the core," CBC reporter Chad Pawson said.
Pawson said eastbound traffic is backed up starting before Maitland Avenue due to a serious multiple-car pileup at Nicholas Street.
Westbound traffic was also delayed in the core because of accidents at Metcalfe Street and Maitland Avenue.
With accidents still being reported as of 10 a.m. ET, police are asking drivers to be cautious and drive according to the road conditions.
