Parents fight at kindergarten graduation
VICTORVILLE, Calif., (UPI) -- Police in California said an elementary school was placed on lockdown following reports of a fight during a kindergarten graduation ceremony -- between parents.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Victorville station said Puesta del Sol Elementary was put on lockdown Wednesday morning after an incident involving parents at a kindergarten graduation, The (Victorville) Daily Press reported Thursday.
"According to witness statements, it appears a few parents went over to a field away from the actual ceremony to discuss something when the alleged fight broke out," station spokeswoman Karen Hunt said.
"When deputies arrived, they didn't observe anyone physically fighting," she said. "We did receive reports some people did become physical but we also heard it remained only a verbal confrontation. Also no one at the scene came forward as a victim."
She said no one required medical attention following the incident and no arrests were made.
